Singing Moose and Beaver!!

I'll admit it - I'm a bit of a planner, so I make Christmas cards year round in the hopes that I will have a stack to send out come December.  Of course it never fails though - I get a bunch made and someone buys them all in November so once again I have none - sigh!

This card features one of my all time favorite images from High Hopes Rubber Stamps because who doesn't love a moose and a beaver!  This is Mudzie and Chopper's Caroling (S205) available here.  I stamped the image on watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then colored it with Inktense pencils and a water brush.  All of the edges of the papers were distressed with the Prima Comfort Distress Tool and then inked with a Antique Linen ink pad.  The treble clef die is from my stash, and the sentiment was printed right on the ribbon - bonus!!

In The Air

We have been in a deep freeze for at least a week - honestly I've lost count for how many days that have been a feels like temperature of -30 or colder.

All this cold weather has turned my thoughts to wishing for Spring! My dog won't stay out for more then 5 minutes to do his "chores" so he is wishing for Spring too!

My friend "Willard Weather Ant" from High Hopes sure has his eye on the Spring weather to come doesn't he?!? I chose to colour him in some bright, Spring feel colours - you know.....with thoughts of Spring and sun and all......<wink>

Our friend Willard is coloured with alcohol markers and cut out using a hand stitched die. Paper from the Echo Park Spring collection were perfect fro my Spring theme. The sentiment was stamped and cut out using a stitched oval die. I added a banner with a butterfly cut out to match the theme. Some ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

New Home

Sometime this spring I'll be moving into a new home nestled in the Kootenay's of British Columbia, and today's card seems like the perfect card to give to someone else in my life that may be buying a new home as well.

This image "Pansy Window Box Frame" is from High Hopes rubber stamps, and can be purchased here at One Crazy Stamper.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to Copic Xpress It cardstock, and then colored the image with Copics.  To create the bricks I used the broad tip of a Copic sketch marker.  The highlights in the window were created with a Sakura white glaze pen.

Copics - B91, B95, C9, E21, E23, E25, E29,  Y19, Y38, B02, B04, YG17, YG21, YG23, YG25, V12, V15, V17, R27, R39

Canoe Trip

Hello OCS Peeps!!
Today I am sharing with you a card I created using the stamp called "Canoe Trip" by High Hopes Stamps. As kids we used to canoe a lot at the Cottage! We would canoe to our friends down the shore and then off we would all go paddling away. My Dad used to take us out in the canoe on really stormy days when the waves were huge. He would purposely tip the canoe and we had fun bringing it back to shore. We thought it was a game but He was teaching us how to handle that scenario.
I chose papers from the Carta Bella Fall Blessings 6x6 collection. I fussy cut out my image and added it to my base layers. I also inked all the edges of my papers with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The sentiment is also from High Hopes and is called "Good Times"
Since I had the "Tee Pee" stamp I thought I'd use it on the inside of my card. I typed the sentiment on my computer and added it to the card for a bit of fun!
Copics Used:
Skin: E53, E13, E15
Outfit: E95, E97, E99
Canoe & paddle: E41, E42, E43, E44, E47/ YR16, YR18, YR23, R37, YG13
Dog: C0, C1, C2
Trees: YG61, YG63, YG67
Rocks: C2, C4, C5
Water: B0000, B000, B01, B02, Spectrum Noir Glitter pen

Owl Love

I have a confession - I don't usually make Valentine's Day cards but sometimes you have an image cross your crafty desk that just screams at you to make it a Valentine's Day card.

That is what happened with Love Birds. I kept the layout very clean and simple (for me) - they are just too cute and I wanted them to really be the focus of my card. I also have them sitting on the perfect branch  - it has a few leaves to give this sweet couple some privacy <smile>

After colouring my stamps with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut them. Their tails had to be cut off so I could put them behind the branch. I set them aside and blended some inks to create a light airy background. I added some hearts above their heads for fun. The sentiment was masked off and stamped directly on my background - thankful for my Misti for this one! The heart they are holding is coloured with a sparkle pen - so hard to get a good photo of! Some simple gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Love BirdsBranch - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Love Never Fails - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: ink blended by me
Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, stitched rectangle die - Your Next Stamp, Stampin' Up inks, mini heart ink splatter - Your Next Stamp, Cosmos Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen

Spectrum Noir Markers: EB6 EB3 EB5 CT1 CT2 GB5 CG1 DG2 DG4 TN3 TN6 TN7 TN4 TN8

Beaver Romance

Wednesday has rolled around again, so it's time for me to highlight a new to me High Hopes rubber stamp for One Crazy Stamper.  This week I am sharing the adorable image "Beavers Romance" available here, which would be a perfect image for Valentine's Day.  The sentiment is also a High Hopes rubber stamp that is available here.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to Copic Xpress It cardstock, then colored with Copics.  Sakura white glaze pen covers the Luvs lettering to give it some shine, and the centers of the flowers are small dots of Viva Decor pearl pen.  The sentiment was stamped with Onyx Black Versafine ink pad on to kraft paper.

Just Married!

Hello OCS Fans!
Don't you love a good Wedding! There is something about seeing a Bride that just gives me a "warm & fuzzy" feeling! This is "Just Married" from High Hopes Stamps. Off the Happily Married couple goes to start their new life together!
I decided to use paper from the Simple Stories The Story of Us 6x6 collection! I love the blacks and golds in this collection. I used the HH "Love Never Fails" sentiment on the front along with a few YNS Gold Gumdrops. You can't tell in the picture but the light grey parts on the card are actually coloured with Wink of Stella's Silver glitter pen. The bride and her flowers have Spectrum Noir Glitter pen on them as well.
I used die cuts from the SS The Story of Us Bits & Pieces set on the inside.
Copics Used:
C1, C2, C4, C6, C8
R24, R27, R81, R83, R85, R89

Welcome Little One

Hi Everyone,
Since I'm always behind in getting cards out to friends and family this year I'm trying to get a little stash of "just in case cards" ready.  I currently don't have any expecting friends or family members but you never know when this will come in handy.
This image is called HMS Noah's Ark from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.  It looks like a lot of coloring and in a way it is but once you pick out your colors it actually goes really quickly.  I played around with my new Brother Scan N Cut to create the mats for the image.  I'm not very good with it yet but will keep practicing.
I tried to make the colors suitable for either a little boy or little girl.  Given most of the colors are muted on this card I put a little spark in with the BG'
Copics
Ark - E25, E23, E21
Left & Right Mouse - T4, T2, T0
Water - BG0000, BG000
Noah - E74, E71, E70
Ark Trim - E44, E43, E42
Bobber & Hearts - E09, E08, E22
Flag, Mouse Snorkel Equipment & Butterflies - BG13, BG11
Parrots - BG49, BG45, YR15, Y38
Hippos - C5, C3, C1
Elephants - W4, W2, W1
Monkeys - E27, E25, E23
Cats - E99, E97

Little Reader Trio.....

Welcome OCS and HH fans;

Have you ever wondered what else you can do with a stamp.  I love it when a stamp is very versatile and multiple items can be created with.  Such is the case with my post for today.  Using the Little Reader from High Hopes Stamps, I made a set which includes a card, a bookplate and a bookmark.

The Little Reader was stamped three times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on XPress It Blending Cardstock and coloured with Copic Markers.  I found a quote by Dr. Seuss as well as an Anonymous quote that fit very well with what I was wanting to achieve.

Card

Bookplate

For the Bookplate, I used another High Hopes Stamp, called Book Belongs To and cut the image out using  the Spellbinders Labels Seven die, which is shaped like an open book. I added a peel off strip around the border.

 Bookmark

The bookmark is 2 1/2" by 6 1\2".  I used the same green cardstock that was used for the card and bookplate.  The darker green paper has a shimmer to it and is from my stash of paper that I got on a trip to England a few years ago.  The image and sentiment were both cut using the Spellbinders Large Labels die, with the 2nd quote mounted between the two. Small Rhinestones were added to the corners. Small Rhinestones were added to the corners, along with some green and white twine.

Good Times

Did anyone else grow up going to slumber parties?? I grew up with a group of girls that often had slumber parties......or sleep overs are they are called today  - seemed every Birthday was the perfect excuse for a slumber party. Up too late, eating junk food and being silly - the perfect recipe for fun!

My post for this week features "Girl Talk" an older stamp from High Hopes. There seems to be quite the story being told here!

The stamp is coloured with alcohol markers and cut out using a stitched oval. I matched the stitched oval with the sentiment as well and used a stitched border die for a fun curve in the patterned paper. Photo corners, ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.
